XHTML 1.0 / HTML 4.01 Free Online Course
XHTML 1.0 and HTML 4.01 are Essentially the Same Thing
XHTML is the next version of HTML. This class will teach all the same concepts as the HTML 101 course, but focused on valid and well-formed XHTML.
After you finish this free course, you will understand the basics of XHTML, and some more advanced topics. With interactive lessons and the option to work with other people in the course, you'll be able to learn HTML the way you want. Go at your own pace, or follow along with the weekly syllabus.
The class will cover:
- the differences between XHTML and HTML
- basic XHTML
- text manipulation
- lists
- images
- linking
- tables
- frames
- and even an overview of forms
At the end of the class, those students who pass a skills test demonstrating their knowledge will receive a certificate marking their successful completion of the course.
Classes start every week. You will receive the weekly syllabus on the same morning you signed up to your mail address. You then have a week to complete the lessons.
You can take the class at your own pace, but you will receive the emails every week.
The XHTML 101 training class is free. The only cost to you is the time you spend working on the lessons.
There are a few things you should be aware of before you sign up for the XHTML class:
- You cannot change your email address in the middle of the class, so be sure to use an address you'll have for at least 11 weeks.
- Due to the amount of email I receive, I cannot reply to the "anti-spam" measures for this class. So if you're using something that blocks email until a "real person" sends it, you'll need to turn it off to receive the class.
- There is homework for this class, but it is not graded. If you need feedback, you should post your URLs to the Web Design forum in the HTML Class folder.
Please Read
The class is sent out by an automated mailing system and sometimes lessons can come late or get lost in the mail. If that happens, please pick up the missing lesson here. If you reply to lessons that you have received you may not receive a timely response. It's much faster to get the missing lesson yourself.
And if you have any questions about the class, please be sure to read the FAQ before contacting me. Chances are, your question is already answered online.
